Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of wayfind (the "Service"), operated by wayfind Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What wayfind is

wayfind is a chat-only platform that connects travellers ("Customers") with verified local people ("Hosts") for paid text-based conversations about a destination — recommendations, logistics, cultural context, and assistance finding services such as pharmacies, medical care, dentists, physiotherapists, and similar. wayfind is not a tour operator, travel agency, dating service, or escort service. We do not arrange or facilitate in-person meetings.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts. Hosts must additionally complete identity verification (KYC) and accept the Host Agreement before earning.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, keep your password secure, and notify us immediately of any unauthorised use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines.

4. Payments and fees

Customers pay the Host's listed rate at the time of booking via our payment processor (Stripe). wayfind retains a 5% service feeon each completed conversation; the remainder is paid out to the Host through Stripe Connect on the Host's standard payout schedule. Prices are shown inclusive of any applicable VAT where required.

5. Refunds

Because conversations are delivered immediately and are non-returnable digital services, refunds are issued only where: (a) the Host failed to respond within the agreed window, (b) the conversation breached the Community Guidelines, or (c) we determine in good faith that a refund is appropriate. Submit refund requests within 14 days of the conversation.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: arrange in-person meet-ups; share contact details to move conversations off-platform; engage in romantic, sexual, harassing, or discriminatory communication; request or provide regulated professional advice (medical, legal, financial) as a substitute for a qualified professional; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose. Full rules are in the Community Guidelines.

7. Content and licence

You retain ownership of messages you send. You grant wayfind a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, and display that content for the purpose of operating the Service, ensuring safety, and complying with law.

8. Disclaimers

Hosts are independent individuals, not employees or agents of wayfind. Information shared by Hosts is opinion and local knowledge, not professional advice. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, wayfind's total liability arising out of the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in that period and (b) £100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under English law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or the Community Guidelines. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (payments owed, liability, governing law) will survive.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 14 days before taking effect.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers resident elsewhere retain the protection of mandatory local law.
